Faculty/Staff Directory 3.0

Web Services is pleased to launch the next iteration of the Faculty/Staff Directory.  The new version finally allows us to continue to use Banner as the source of data while at the same time to present departmental information in concordance with the College’s actual operations instead of its budget lines.

Key changes include

  • Non-abbreviated & standardized Faculty/Staff Titles (ex. Asst. VP & Media Relations Dir becomes Assistant Vice-President & Media Relations Director)
  • Custom first & last names for those who are professionally known by names (or variants thereof) that differ from their names for employment purposes (ex.  staff named John Edgar Hoover in Banner would be listed in the directory as J. Edgar Hoover)
  • New departments added and staff assigned to them to reflect current organizational units without budget lines & the combination of several related units with budget lines into a unified department. (ex.  Web Services, Creative Services & Media Relations separated out from Communication & Marketing;  Major Gifts, Annual Giving rolled into Development & Alumni Relations)

As this information will ultimately replace the hand-entered staff lists on emerson.edu, we used emerson.edu as our principal source for departmental/organizational information and consulted with many departments on the combination/separation of their units.

The directory is updated automatically once per day, but can be refreshed manually at any time by a member of the Web Services staff.

We did everything we could to ensure that the data is correct, but there may be some errors (which means www.emerson.edu is currently wrong and we should fix it!);  we encourage you to review both your department’s listing as well as your own.  If you require a correction, please use the appropriate form available on the Corrections & Questions page in the left navigation.
