www.emerson.edu will be upgraded from Drupal 6 to Drupal 7. Below is how it affects your access, content, and experience.
Starting Monday January 14 until approximately Wednesday January 16, access to Drupal will be suspended.
If you have any changes/new content you are working on that can be submitted, please submit them before 9:00 am on Monday. If necessary, Web Services will make critical updates on your behalf during the time that access is suspended.
Drupal 7 is a major upgrade from Drupal 6. While the public website will not change at all, the Administrative interface has changed considerably. We have attempted to keep your experience as close to the existing system as possible.
We have provided resources to you for this transition:
- A rundown of noticeable changes in Drupal 7 are listed and explained
- The Drupal manual has been updated
- Optional workshops will be scheduled next week to go over the changes. We will let you know when they are once the conversion is complete.
- To familiarize yourself with the new administrative interface you can log on to our development server (http://wwwd7.drupaldev.emerson.edu/admin) with your ecnet username and password. Feel free to edit content, etc. This site is only accessible if you are on campus or connected via the VPN.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
