Upcoming Wellness Programs

Human Resources is kicking off the new academic year with several wellness programs. All staff, faculty, and temporary employees are welcome to attend these events. Registration for the events is required. Emerson Walks, Wednesdays and Fridays, 12:00 pm

Departs from the Little Building lobby

Emerson Walks is a fun opportunity to join your peers within the Emerson community for a 45-minute walk on Wednesdays and Fridays during the spring, summer, and fall. The alternating routes for each walk are sent to interested walkers prior to each session and include walks along the Charles River, Commonwealth Avenue, Faneuil Hall, the Public Garden, and Beacon Hill. Weight Watchers, Tuesdays, 12:00 pm

Emerson will offer a 17-week session from mid-September through January, which will meet 12:00–12:45 pm on Tuesdays, contingent upon sufficient participation. The cost of the program is $186. Employees enrolled with health coverage through Emerson can receive an annual reimbursement of $150 from Harvard Pilgrim for participation in the program (requires completion of the program prior to requesting the rebate).

An informational meeting (led by the Weight Watchers leader) is scheduled for September 8, 12:00–12:45 pm, in the Training Room in Human Resources on the second floor of the Transportation Building, 8 Park Plaza.


Balancing Work and Family Workshop

Juggling the demands of children, home, work, and community can be challenging. This workshop focuses on how to manage competing priorities. Topics in this workshop include managing expectations, time management, and managing stress while dealing with multiple demands. This program is presented by Harvard Pilgrim Health Care.



Home Buying Lunch and Learn Workshop

At this workshop, a representative from The Mortgage Network will discuss the climate of the current real estate market; the mortgage process, including how and why to get pre-approved, and how to best position yourself for success in a competitive bidding environment. A representative from Mortgage Network will also be on site, by appointment, on September 29 for one-on-one sessions for those who are not able to attend the workshop on September 24. At these sessions, you can get answers to your personal mortgage questions, as well as a quick pre-qualification analysis. Sign up for a one-on-one session on September 29.
