My name is Emily Quinn and I am a graduate student in the Public Relations program at Emerson College. I would like to share with you my thoughts about my experience with Kraft Sports + Entertainment.
If you are pursuing sports communication or public relations, this blog post may be of interest to you. I am working with Kraft Sports + Entertainment as a member of the Corporate Partnership team that is located at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts.
The Corporate Partnership team is a component of the Marketing Department and works across a variety of corporate partner relationships to further individual business objectives through sport sponsorship. I am currently one month into my experience, but this month has been extremely fast paced as a result of the NFL playoffs, the AFC Championship game and the Super Bowl. (I am still ecstatic to say that we are Champions!) This allowed me to get used to a fast-paced environment which is a necessary skill. It has tested my ability to deal with multiple projects at once which is essential in any career.
A key role for me, at this time of the year, includes putting together year in reviews for various partners of the New England Patriots and Gillette Stadium. You may be wondering what kinds of partners we work with? Dunkin, JetBlue, Bud Light, Bank of America and Pepsi to name a few. Our objective within year in reviews is to show partners why their relationship with us is valuable to their business and display how we helped accomplish their goals throughout the year. Elements within a year in review typically include brand activation’s, digital and social media promotions and advertising, stadium and OOH signage, Day of Game sponsorship’s and much more, depending on the relationship. This experience so far has given me skills in public relations and I have learned the importance of providing necessary information in a cohesive fashion to a client. This experience is also exciting because it provides a unique blend of communication, public relations, marketing and brand management. These are all areas that are of great interest to me.
I grew up a New England Patriots fan so it is a great experience to be involved in the sports industry, especially at Gillette Stadium. I also am very excited to represent Emerson College in a positive light. I know that I will gather more skills throughout my time on the Corporate Partnerships team. I also really enjoy working with a team and hearing different perspectives. I think it is important to any organization to hear different points of view. I also am very lucky to have a great team and managers.This is my first semester as a graduate student and I am very happy to be continuing my time at Emerson. Most of my experiences in my time as an undergraduate student were in politics so it is awesome to gain real world skills in my other area of study.
