Welcome back to campus, returning students!
Incoming class, I want to congratulate you once again for taking the bold step to continue your education and redefine your future. I thank you for choosing to do it at Emerson.
Emerson is a place, and it’s also an opportunity. Here, there are like-minded students to learn and grow with. As you prepare for your future career, you will encounter scholars, professionals, artists—dedicated faculty, students, and staff—all of whom want to see you grow, thrive, and put your mark on the world.
While you are at Emerson, I want to see you grow in your ability to communicate effectively through critical, independent, and ethical thinking, and I want you to apply that knowledge and practice in ways that will define you professionally and contribute meaningfully to society.
Your time at Emerson should be used not only to learn and hone your craft and skills—though you will—but also to make meaningful connections with faculty and peers.
This year, within our 12 Graduate Programs (on-campus and online) we have close to 400 new students joining our nearly 400 current students. There are ample opportunities for all of us to meet, grow with, and learn from one another. I urge you to take advantage of them.
So, welcome, or welcome back, I am looking forward to a great year together.
