We hope you have had a great semester! Thank you for helping to make it a success!
Final Grading is Open
Faculty can submit final grades for the fall semester. Grades are due Thursday, December 22 at 12:00 noon ET. All grades must be submitted by this deadline. Late grades can delay a student’s graduation, financial aid standing, and their employment.
Common Grade Entry Problems
Clicking the course title instead of the green triangle:
After you’ve selected the “Final Grades” option in the Faculty Grading Assignment section of eCommon to get a list of your current courses, you must click on the green triangle to the right of the course to access the grade entry page. If a course is already partially graded, the triangle will appear yellow. You still need to click on it to access the grade entry page!
Submitting an Incomplete Grade without confirming:
If you assign any incomplete grades, you will be prompted to click submit on a second page. The system is merely trying to confirm that you intended to enter an incomplete grade.
Submitting an F grade without giving a final date of attendance:
If you need to enter a F for a student, you will need to enter the student’s final date of attendance. If you forget you’ll receive an error message after you hit submit, prompting you to do so.
Incomplete Grade Changes
Did you give an incomplete grade last spring or summer? Don’t miss the deadline to get it changed! Instructors must submit a completed Grade Change Form to the Registrar’s Office by Thursday, December 22 at 12:00 noon ET. Forms are available on eCommon and may be scanned and emailed to email@example.com from your Emerson email account.
If you wish to extend the incomplete for another semester, you must send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the name of the student, the course, and the term the student began the course. Incomplete grades from last spring or summer will change to Incomplete/Failure grades on December 23.
