BOSTON – Emerson College’s Communication Studies program has been ranked among the top five in the United States by College Factual, a market leader in providing college rankings. In fact, College Factual was recently selected as the college rankings data provider for USA Today College Guide 2016. Joining Emerson in this prestigious category are the University of Southern California, the University of Pennsylvania, Northwestern University and Stanford University.
“This is a testament to the quality of our faculty and the value of the education our students receive,” said Dr. Richard West, a Professor in the Department of Communication Studies. “Our primary goal is giving students the tools they need to succeed in the marketplace.”
West is nationally recognized as a communication expert and formerly served as the president of the National Communication Association. He has also authored numerous books on various communication subjects that are used in curricula throughout the country.
Dr. Gregory Payne, the chair of the Communication Studies Department, also commented on this notable accomplishment for the department. “We are gratified to hear this great news as it reflects our passion for teaching and engagement with our students and our commitment to building programs founded on excellence in strategic communication.” Emerson’s Communication Studies program has demonstrated that passion for student engagement in recent weeks during organized student visits to both the Iowa Caucus and New Hampshire Primary.
