Emerson students visit companies in NY

This past Friday Emerson graduate students from all majors traveled to New York City to meet the area’s leading employers in fields related to their studies. Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to learn more about company culture, making connections, and networking with potential future employers.

This year, companies such as Edelman, the New York Public Library, Simon & Schuster, NY1, Flamingo, Random House and Slate, among other, welcomed students in their offices, talked to them about how they work and to answer their questions.

As a Publishing and Writing MA student I visited the NY Public Library, NY1 and Slate. In every company I had the chance to visit the amazing work places in New York, and also to make new potential employers, hear their career stories and what is required to live and work in New York.

To end a very successful day, Emerson hosted a celebration for the students visit at Gossip Bar, where we got to mingle and talked about our experience with colleagues and alumni.
